Portable Steam Machine Smach Zero launching late 2016







Smach Zero – the portable Steam machine formerly known as SteamBoy – will launch late next year, manufacturer Smach has announced.

The company revealed at gamescom the renamed portable SteamOS device will arrive in Q4 2016, in time for the holidays.

It'll cost $299 (€299 in Europe) for pre-orders starting November 10th of this year, and will likely see a price increase by the time the hardware hits official release.

The firm states Smach Zero will be "the first handheld console to play Steam games on the go," and can play "more than 1,000 games" from Steam's library on day one.
