How To Fix Nvidia Driver Issues In Microsoft Windows 10?

Following the update to Windows 10, many users have reported facing issues with Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) drivers in their new OS installation. The errors are being attributed to Microsoft’s new mandatory update policy for Windows 10, which in turn is colliding with Nvidia’s own driver system, causing users’ systems to exhibit various display problems.

Early adopters of Microsoft Corporation's (NASDAQ:MSFT) latest Windows integration are experiencing various display glitches. In some cases, the system's display output crashes after Windows 10 automatically updates the Nvidia graphics card drivers via Windows update.

Users have flocked to Reddit and Nvidia forums in hopes of a solution to the issue, which can render games unplayable and cause stuttering.

The most basic fix to the issue is to simply restart the system, once Windows Update has completed the driver install process. However, if that doesn’t work for you, there’s another method detailed below which fixes all the driver issues.

Nvidia Installer Failed In Windows 10? Here’s The Fix

After reports from users surfaced regarding the issues, Nvidia was quick to respond and released new drivers to fix the issue. There are two ways to get the updated 353.62 drivers that fix all the Windows 10 driver problems. You can either head on to Windows Update and install package KB3073930, which allows you to "prevent the problematic driver or update from reinstalling automatically the next time Windows Updates are installed," or you can download it manually using the guide below:

Step 1: Open your web browser of choice and navigate to http://www.geforce.com/drivers.

Step 2: Scroll to the Manual Driver Search section and enter your desktop configuration and press Start Search.

Step 3: Download the version 353.62 – WHQL that has a release date of July 29.

Step 4: Once the download is completed, right click on the file and select “Run as administrator” from the context menu. Running as administrator is crucial since the drivers may fail to install without the proper privileges.

Step 5: Follow the steps in the driver installation wizard to install the updated Nvidia driver. Once the install is complete, ensure that you reboot your computer.
