UPDATE EIGHT: The Xbox Live Status page has been updated with a range of new applications that are currently not working properly for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users.
The ESPN app is listed as being affected on both consoles, along with the IGN media app.
Certain games are also unplayable, according to Microsoft, although it hasn't been verified which titles this current problem includes.
Users in the UK are reporting issues playing titles such as Call of Duty and Titanfall.
"Xbox members, are you having difficulties playing or saving certain games on Xbox Live? We're on it!" a post from the Microsoft support team reads.
"Our team is already hard at work trying to get this fixed.
"Thanks for your patience while we investigate. We'll update you again when we have more information."
One fan commenting on the recent outages, posted online: "I can sign in, but can't join a Call of Duty game, it just spins around and I'm the only person in the room."
Other issues include saving games and the general stability of the Friend Activity feature on Xbox One.
"We're on the case for those having trouble playing games or accessing saves," a post from Microsoft reads.
UPDATE SEVEN: Microsoft have announced that they have cleared all their prior investigations into the causes of last night's outages and have de-listed all problems from the official Xbox Live status page.
It would appear that access to gaming and media applications have been restored, following a Sunday which saw nearly all of Xbox Live's core services affected by a severe outage in Europe and North America.
Many fans found themselves unable to log in from around 8pm, UK time, for several hours, while other were unable to access key apps like Netflix or play downloaded games.
UPDATE SIX: Microsoft has added further online features to a growing list of problems affecting Xbox Live.
Browsing the Xbox Video Store and the Xbox Music Store has now been flagged as an ongoing issues, as well as downloading items that you have already purchased.
The Xbox support team have also confirmed that they are currently working on digital game access with the proper teams, after many users reported problems accessing certain titles earlier today.
"Can’t purchase content or subscriptions? Don’t worry! We’re working hard to get things back to normal as quickly as possible," an official support message reads.
"Additionally, are you having a tough time launching titles you’ve purchased digitally? Or trouble launching your favorite Xbox applications? We’re working on these issues too!"
Another Xbox Core Service has also been flagged by Microsoft, with a select number of Xbox One and Xbox 360 Applications reportedly not functioning as they should.
UPDATE FIVE: Microsoft say they are continuing their efforts to bring Xbox Live back online in full, although there are still some teething problems.
The Microsoft support team posted this message over two hours ago, writing: "Sign in across devices should be back to normal!
"Please Tweet us if you've got any other questions & we'll get things sorted together.
However since then there has been another, confirming that things have yet to get back to normal.
"Our teams are working hard to make sure you can access all of your game & app content," the post adds.
Users are still struggling to access their games and are being hit with an error message telling them that they are not connect to Xbox Live.
This problem has been confirmed to be affecting Xbox fans in both the UK and North America.
Its great that if there are any issues with the connectivity on Xbox's network they fix it in a timely fashion.
