Among its set of new features, Windows 10 brings Cortana – the personal assistant/Siri-competitor that Microsoft introduced on its mobile devices – to the desktop. While some users may be eager to dictate questions and commands to a voice coming from their computer, others will likely never use the feature even if they know it exists. Fortunately, Windows allows users to disable the service so that you don’t waste time and system resources on it. Here’s how.
How To Turn Cortana Off in Windows 10
1. Click inside of the “Ask me anything” box.
2. Click the Notebook icon.
3. Select “Settings” from the menu.
4. Toggle “Cortana can give you suggestions . . . ” to off.
