Xbox Live down: Xbox One and Xbox 360 core services hit yet again by online issues

Xbox Live status page currently lists core online services as being affected

Problems were first reported at around 5pm, UK time and have steadily grown in severity.

Microsoft have confirmed they are looking into the issue of Xbox Live users being unable to sign into their consoles, while problems have also been highlighted on other devices.

The support team on Twitter revealed: "We've seen some similar reports here, yeah. Is there an error code coming up when you try to sign in?"

The Xbox Live Status page now reads that both creating and accessing Xbox Live profiles may be problematic in the UK and North America.

It is currently unclear what is causing the latest outage, although it is likely connected with the mass downtime seen on Sunday evening.

Xbox Live Core Services are Limited, according to Microsoft and could see users struggle to create new accounts on Xbox Live, manage those accounts, or recover an account on a different device.

"Having trouble creating a new account on Xbox Live? We're on it!" a status update from Microsoft confirms.

"Our team is working hard to get this fixed right now.

"Thanks for your patience while we work, we'll update you as soon as we know more."

Those who have managed to log in and have found some of their online features, such as friend activity limited or not functioning properly.
