Dying Light update PS4, Xbox One: Exploring the world of the undead

TECHLANDD ying Light's update on Xbox One, PS4 and PC should help freshen things up

The Techland-developed title felt like a well balanced experience that genuinely added something new to a rather tired and worn out zombie genre.

The introduction of night-time enemies and the ability to successfully travel around dead zones using your parkour skills worked well to make it a fresh game for the new-gen consoles.

In last week’s ‘Half a Year with Dying Light’ video, Techland also teased a new game mechanic that would be introduced with their first paid-for DLC - The Following.

Drivable all-terrain dirt buggies will appear in Dying Light: The Following – a new content offering that has been promised as a feature-heavy, story-based expansion pack.

Tymon Smektala, the producer of Dying Light: The Following revealed more on the project, saying: "For Dying Light: The Following we’re adding a number of bold game-changers to create one massive expansion.

"Something big that will give the game a brand-new flavour.

"The new map alone is the same size as all the previous maps from Dying Light combined, so there is a lot we’re packing in here.

"We also kept a close eye on player feedback to help tailor what we’ve created here. Hopefully people will see that this new expansion is first and foremost, for the fans.”

TECHLANDD ying Light: The Following will be revealed at Gamescom

Dying Light: The Following will be available for purchase separately but will also be made free to all Season Pass holders.

And fans can expect to learn more about the expansion pack soon, as the new DLC is set to be showcased behind closed doors at Gamescom next month, with a full public reveal following shortly after.

We have included some of the new images from The Following and while it is still unclear how successful it will prove to bring a vehicles area into the zombie title, we can't help but be hopeful that this will add to the overall Dying Light experience.
