GTA 5 Mod, FiveM, Creators and Affiliates Banned by Rockstar

We know Rockstar Games doesn’t allow GTA 5 mods to touch the online component of the game but it seems a multiplayer mod which the modders claim is isolated from GTA Online got them banned.

The developers not only banned the guys who created the mod, called FiveM, but also banned a number of other people that they think are affiliated with it for instance the moderator of the subreddit related to the game.

So the guy in question took to the Rockstar Games community website and lodged a complaint where he also explained the connection.

I believe these bans may be in relation to my existence on the FiveM project (which is not meant to be a crack, unlike most Russians may say). I have not done any reverse engineering or other work on FiveM that may go against the TOS.

As far as Rockstar’s policy about mods in GTA Online is concerned, they strictly want no modder meddling in the game’s experience:

Our primary focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause grieving. It also bears mentioning that because game mods are by definition unauthorized, they may be broken by technical updates, cause instability, or affect your game in other unforeseen ways.

But on the other hand these guys say that while the GTA 5 mod FiveM is based around multiplayer it is almost completely isolated from GTA Online.

That is not all, the guys were manually banned through their social club account despite the fact that these guys swear they have never cheated in GTA 5.
