Xiaomi launches MIUI 7, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 2 Prime
Xiaomi says they will ship with the company's MIUI 6 OS but will later receive an update with MIUI 7
Chinese company Xiaomi has launched mid- range smartphones, Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime in Beijing.
According to The Next Web, the Redmi Note 2 is 4G-capable dual-SIM phone with a 5.5-inch full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels display and comes with a 2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor.
It also sports 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage as well as a MicroSD slot to add more storage space.
Also, it features a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. The handset packs a 3,060 mAh removable battery and an IR blaster for controlling the user’s home entertainment system.
The Note 2 Prime comes with a more powerful 2.2GHz chip and the onboard storage at 32GB and has rest of the configuration same as Redmi Note 2.

In addition, Xiaomi has also announced MIUI 7.
The two new Xiaomi smartphones will go on sale online starting in China on August 16.
The Note 2 will cost USD125 and the Note 2 Prime will come for USD 155.
