"Suicide Squad" is coming, and all these characters have one thing in common—each and every one of them has had brushes with the Caped Crusader in the past.
That's why, according to this io9 report, Batman's story is an integral part of this movie. Take for instance Harley Quinn who is connected to the Joker. The Joker, as everyone knows, is Batman's major adversary. He is a chaotic force of evil and he brings the chaos to the Batman's order, a complete reversal of everything that Batman stands for.
According to the report, Empire Magazine had the chance to ask on what the story is all about and how Batman ties in with the story.
As people would expect, Batman was responsible for the formation of this "Suicide Squad," nabbing each and every one of them and is responsible for them languishing in jail. That's where he comes in, 45 or 46 years into the future. According to Snyder, Bruce Wayne is questioning his resolve and his identity as the Dark Knight.
It's interesting enough that the jumping point for the film is "Batman v Superman" which is a wise decision. People will want to see both films to find out how they tie-in with each other.
Regarding "Suicide Squad," though, another io9 article explores the possibility that it could become a rich tapestry of story-telling which stories of the members gets explored. An interesting concept, according to the article, would be the exploration of Harley Quinn's back story.
According to the report, a double for Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn, posted a shot bearing the ACE Chemicals logo which in turn created Harley Quinn. Joker was instrumental for throwing her into the vat of chemicals, similar to how he became the Joker as seen in the comic book story "The Killing Joke."
"Suicide Squad" will hit cinemas in Aug. 5, 2016.
